The Russian Quantum Center is a new center of research excellence in Russia aimed to explore the quantum frontier, uncover new science and develop new technologies. The Center brings together the best international scientists who are committed to making our center a major player on a worldwide stage of quantum science and quantum technology within the next few years.

Our partnership with leading international research institutions will enable integration between Russian and international scientific communities, facilitate education and training of a new generation of young scientists and engineers, nurtured in the great tradition of Russian quantum physics and exposed to a top-level international environment. We hope to become a magnet for talented young scientists from around the world.

Our research activities will result in secure communication channels, new materials with predetermined properties, submicron optical transistors and high-bandwidth optoelectronics, new systems for tomography of the brain as well as precise, compact clocks for navigation.

The center will host about ten research groups totaling up to one hundred Russian and international scientists. We plan to begin our work in early 2012.
